Beep Beep TLV
Privacy Policy
Last updated: 21 June 2026
Beep Beep TLV (“the app”, “we”) helps riders in Tel Aviv ride safely and avoid
enforcement fines, and lets riders crowdsource the locations of enforcement points.
We built the app to collect as little of your data as possible.
This policy explains exactly what the app does and does not do with data.
The short version
🛰️ Your location never leaves your phone for the alert and
distance features — it’s processed on-device.
📷 Only what you choose to report (a camera’s location, type,
your optional note and photo) is uploaded — and it’s shared publicly with other riders.
🚫 No ads, no third-party analytics, no tracking, no account, no data selling.
What the app collects
ON YOUR DEVICE ONLY
- Your location. While Ride Mode is on, the app uses your GPS location to
warn you when you approach a known enforcement point and to measure how far you’ve ridden
(your odometer). This happens entirely on your device. We do not receive, store, or transmit
your location. Background location permission is used only so an alert can reach you while the
phone is in your pocket.
- Your profile and ride stats. Your display name, join date, distance ridden,
and ride count are stored locally on your device. They are not uploaded.
UPLOADED WHEN YOU REPORT
- Community reports. When you choose to add an enforcement point, the app
uploads the point’s location (not yours), the type you selected, your optional text note,
and your optional photo to Apple’s iCloud (CloudKit public database) so other riders can see it.
Anything you submit here is visible to other users of the app — please don’t include personal
information in notes or photos.
- Confirmations & votes. When you confirm or flag a point, we store that
action against an anonymous identifier provided by Apple’s iCloud so we don’t double-count the
same person. This identifier does not tell us who you are.
What we do NOT collect
- No advertising identifiers and no ads.
- No third-party analytics or tracking SDKs.
- No tracking of you across other apps or websites.
- No name, email, phone number, or account sign-up.
- We never sell your data — there is nothing to sell.
Where data is stored
Community reports and confirmations are stored in Apple’s iCloud (CloudKit) and handled under
Apple’s Privacy Policy.
On-device data stays in the app’s storage on your iPhone and is removed when you delete the app.
Your choices
- You can decline location permission — the app still opens, but it can’t warn you of nearby
enforcement points until you allow it.
- Reporting and adding photos are entirely optional.
- You can reset your local ride stats from the in-app Settings.
- To remove a report you submitted, or to request deletion of data tied to your anonymous
identifier, contact us below.
Children
The app is not directed to children. Local law sets a minimum age for riding electric scooters
and bikes; the app is intended for riders who are legally permitted to ride.
Not an official service
Beep Beep TLV is an independent app. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the
Tel Aviv-Yafo Municipality, the Israel Police, or any government authority. Enforcement-point
locations are crowdsourced and provided for convenience and safety awareness only — they may be
incomplete, inaccurate, or out of date. Always follow the law and ride safely.
Changes
If we change this policy we’ll update the date at the top of this page.
