Still
A Mac app for people who wait on AI
You asked.
Now you wait.
So you open a tab.
Then another.
What if the wait
was the point?

Don't touch anything for 8 seconds.

That's Still

You got your answer. And a breath.

Still lives in your menu bar. Whenever Claude or Codex is working and you let go for 8 seconds, your Mac turns the wait into a slow tide. The moment the answer is ready, it steps aside.

What you'll see

A tide, not a timer.

No streaks, no scores, no notifications. Every display fills with slow water that swells as you breathe in and settles as you breathe out. The sky follows your clock: stars at night, a low sun at sunset. Click or press Esc and you're back instantly.

Good manners

It knows when to leave you alone.

A break you didn't ask for is just another interruption. So Still is picky about when it shows up.

  • Only for the chat you're looking at.other chats never trigger it
  • Half-written message? It waits.drafts pause breaks
  • Typing, clicking or scrolling resets the count.8 idle seconds

Pace

Pick a rhythm. Or don't.

Three paces in the menu bar. Every breath goes in, hold, out, hold. The default gives you a short pause at the top and a long, slow exhale. The start delay is yours too: 5, 8, 15 or 30 seconds.

Get Still

A few minutes of setup. Then just wait.

Still is a small Mac beta. Automatic breaks are new, so expect a few rough edges.

  1. Open the download and drag Still into Applications.
  2. Open Still. Setup opens on its own and turns each step green as you go.
  3. Allow Still in Accessibility settings. That's how it knows which chat is on screen.
  4. Connect Claude, Codex or both, then click Test and send any message.
